In a press release on March 21, 2011, Porsche AG announced receiving order sports car, the latest super car, unique hybrid technology luxury car that is planned to be manufactured in Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen plant in Germany will only be produced in a limited number of 918 units. Eco-friendly car which was first seen in the 2010 Geneva Motor Show is a cool car Porsche 918 Spyder plug-in hybrid.
The exclusive hybrid technology future car is expected to consume only 3 liters of fuel per 100 km / h which means that 1 liter per 33.33 km / h (94 mpg imp), a significant figure and CO2 emissions of just 70 g / km (112 g / mile). Porsche 918 Spyder’s energy source derived from conventional engine and electric motors. Equipped with a V8 engine that can produce 500 horsepower (368 kW) coupled with 2 electric motors, one each on the front and rear axle which can produce at least 218 horsepower (160 kW).
Porsche AG is optimistic about the strength of this two-seater version super car because the mid-engine power unit of this limited production car is based on the racing engine version of the Porsche RS Spyder which has proven successful to bring some victories in the Michelin Green X Challenge in the American Le Mans Series, the Le Mans Series and the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Super car made by German manufacturer is able to accelerate from 0 -62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 199 mph (320 km / h) while the highest speed on purely electric power is 94 mph (150 km / h).
The great power and motor as a source of shock transmitted to both axles through the seven gear Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) and with a liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery as the energy storage unit that can be charged from a conventional domestic power socket to provide a range in excess of 16 miles (25 km) in the NEDC on purely electric power.
The design of super-luxury, the Porsche 918 Spyder made of a carbon fibre-reinforced plastic monocoque with removable roof panels that can be stowed in the front luggage and one more thing, if you order now you must be patient to be able to ride this luxurious 4-wheels because the production of the new Porsche 918 Spyder will start on September 18, 2013 and the delivery of new cars will begin in November 2013.
