2012 Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid will be the first PHEV in the world

This Swedish automaker is one of 10 fuel-efficient cars revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 which is expected to be marketed in Europe in 2012, the Volvo V60 plug-in hybrid. The advantages offered by the estate version of the S60 is staggering, the combination of plug-in hybrid engine and electric motor performance can produce very low figures of CO2 emissions and fuel consumption, only 49 g/km and 1.9 liters per 100 km (123.8 mpg).

The fuel efficient compact 2012 Ford Focus ECOnetic with Duratorq TDCi

The Ford Focus ECOnetic is one of the most fuel-efficient cars at the Frankfurt Motor Show 2011 (based on Yahoo! UK). A compact car powered by 1.6-liter Duratorq TDCi diesel engine which is paired with a new six-speed Durashift manual transmission and capable of generating power 104 hp (77 kW), CO2 emissions only 89 g/km and fuel consumption less than 3.5 liters per 100 km on the combined cycle.

The fuel efficient car Mazda CX-5 using new SkyActiv technology
